Venabu Mountain Lodge is located at Venabygdsfjellet between Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen, in the heart of one of the country’s most spectacular hiking areas. Walks and ski trips with local guides can be arranged.

Our kitchen is renowned for quality home-cooked food based on local ingredients. We offer a buffet with a vast selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes as well as an excellent choice of desserts. Every Wednesday we put on our speciality “Norsk Matbord” – a large buffet with traditional food such as elk stew, local gruel and soup, and various fish dishes.

During your meals in the restaurant at Venabu, you can enjoy the views towards Rondane in the north and Trollheimen in the west. We are fully licensed, and offer a good selection of wine and beer from our own brewery.

Venabu was established in 1947, and is owned and run by the Tvete family. The hotel has 56 en-suite rooms of which 6 are suitable for wheelchair users. We also have a large cabin with 5 bedrooms, and 8 high-quality cabins sleeping 2 to 14 people.
