Sygaard Grytting is a vibrant farm in full operation, with hospitality traditions dating back 700 years – run by the same family. Stay in rooms packed with history, and enjoy meals based on local food traditions in an authentic setting.
At Sygaard Grytting, the culinary experiences match the surroundings. Most of the ingredients used are from the farm and its surrounding area, and all food is made from scratch. On the menu are dishes of lamb, elk, reindeer, and mountain-lake fish. Soups and gravy are made from real stock. A special selection of the farm’s own lamb products is available, and the potatoes are and home-grown organic. Desserts are based on berries and fruit from own garden. Speciality dishes are “sø” and “kål” – traditional local soups. Bread, flatbread, and cakes are home-baked, and the jam is the farm’s own product.
Sygaard Grytting is a working farm where meals are based on own produce – lamb grazing in the mountain throughout the summer; fish from lakes close to the mountain farm; vegetables, herbs, and berries from own garden.
In the summer season, we offer evening meals, guided tours, accommodation, and breakfast for individuals and small groups. The rest of the year we offer tailored packages for groups of various sizes.
